Short Role Description

Core Tasks

As a Senior Data Solution Engineer (m/f/d), you design and develop a wide variety of data products and are technically responsible for smooth operation. You help us to meet our high technical quality standards. What exactly awaits you? 

  • In cooperation with our data product owner, you will design and develop data models based on business requirements in order to provide end users with the right solution
  • You analyse data structures of possible source systems and, based on this, develop ETL/ELT processes for different BI, analytics and data science solutions within a state-of-the-art Microsoft Azure environment
  • You are a technical expert and contact person for internal and external colleagues and responsible for compliance with the data platform development standards
  • You think about the operation and documentation of the products right from the start. Your goal is always to be the first in the organization to identify errors in the operational process and to rectify them proactively.With your teammates you will try out new technical possibilities and incorporate them into your work. To do this, you will continue to educate yourself regularly and bring in new ideas

Key Requirements

Must haves:

  • You have at least 5 years of solid practical implementation experience of Data Pipelines ETL/ELT with Azure Databricks and Azure Data Factory
  • You know how to work optimally in Azure Datalake and Azure SQL DB and how to manage the data inventory
  • You are able to design and implement data models for specific use cases. (3NF, Star/Snowflake)
  • You believe that data architecture decisions should be shared by the entire team. You know how to win over your colleagues for your ideas and take them with you. You always see critical feedback as an opportunity to improve and achieve the best for the company.
  • With your strong hands-on mentality and your high level of reliability, you act as a role model for other colleagues.
  • You never lose sight of the end customer during implementation and always follow the "customer first" idea.
  • SQL and Python, SCRUM and Kanban – you feel comfortable in any environment and can therefore precisely translate technical requirements into technical solutions and implement them in an agile setup.
  • Business fluent English. German will be a plus point (but it is also fine if you don't speak German at all but are willing to improve it)

Further requirements:

  • First experience with Power BI is a plus
  • Ideally, initial experience in managing external colleagues

Compensation

80.-90.000€ p.a. plus very attractive bonus
